About Nabla

We are a team of entrepreneurs, clinicians and engineers committed to bringing back joy to the practice of medicine.

Together with a community of clinician innovators, we’ve harnessed the best of machine learning science to develop Nabla: the leading AI assistant that’s restoring the human connection at the heart of healthcare. By streamlining clinical documentation, Nabla is helping clinicians focus on what matters most - patient care. Today, over 100,000+ clinicians across 130+ healthcare organizations trust Nabla to support how they deliver care every day.

We’re at the start of an ambitious journey: Ambient listening, dictation, coding, and command capabilities are all converging into a proactive assistant that intuitively streamlines clinical and financial workflows.

Backed by a recent $70M Series C, we’re hiring to build the next generation of clinical AI and improve the lives of clinicians and patients everywhere.

This is a great time to join us!

The best of AI at the service of healthcare

Led by former Meta AI Research engineers, our team has consistently anticipated how AI can revolutionize healthcare delivery. Our Machine Learning team continually leverages the latest advancements to unlock AI’s full potential in healthcare.

Yann LeCun, Meta’s ex-Chief AI Scientist and Turing award winner, is an advisor to Nabla. He’s now focused on AMI Labs, with whom we have a close partnership.

Engineering at Nabla

Engineering at Nabla is lean, fast-moving, and deeply technical. Our teams span machine learning, native desktop applications, and platform infrastructure to deliver AI into clinical settings reliably and at scale.

Your Team

At Nabla, product development is led jointly by Engineering and Product, and organized into cross-functional squads, each focused on a specific product area. Squads bring together product managers, designers, engineers of different profiles, and domain experts, and operate with a high level of ownership.

As an AI Engineer, you’ll join one of these squads and contribute end to end to a specific part of the product.

What you'll do

As an AI/ML Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in redefining clinicians’ workflows, unlocking better care for patients, and ensuring Nabla remains at the forefront of AI innovation. You will take ownership of high-impact projects and contribute to the growth and maturity of our engineering team and product.

Within a team of experts who have built large-scale production systems at Meta, Google, and Microsoft, you will:

Build agentic pipelines: chains of LLM-based agents that work together on complex clinical documentation tasks.
Go beyond ambient scribing to fully redefine clinicians’ workflows with AI, unlocking transformative efficiencies and improved patient care.
Integrate LLM provider APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others) into production features.
Design prompts and build evaluation frameworks to measure and improve output quality, then iterate quickly based on results.
Write clean, production-grade code and own your features end to end, from design to deployment and monitoring in a live healthcare setting.
Work closely with product managers to turn model capabilities into reliable, scalable product features.

To get a sense of the impact you’ll have:

Nabla processes 300 billion tokens/month with LLMs.
By the time you’ve read this posting, Nabla will have transcribed 100 new hours of live audio and generated 500 new clinical notes, saving 125 hours of doctor time.

Your DNA:

The ideal candidate will bring strong software engineering skills and a practical, hands-on approach to building with LLMs.

You have 3+ years writing production code, with solid skills in software design, testing, and system architecture.
You’re proficient in one or more widely used back-end languages (Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, etc.).
You’ve built features or products using LLM provider APIs, including prompting and evaluation. You don’t need to have trained or fine-tuned models yourself.
You can turn a fuzzy product requirement into a working, testable pipeline.
You have a passion for going beyond the status quo to redefine workflows and unlock better care for patients.
You communicate clearly and effectively.
Bonus: Experience building multi-agent systems or agent orchestration frameworks is a strong plus.

Our Stack

Kotlin for backend services
LLM provider APIs (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and others) for the models themselves
Agent orchestration frameworks for building chains of agents
Prompt evaluation and testing tools to track output quality over time
Google Cloud & Kubernetes for deployment

Where you'll be based

Our offices are based in Paris 3e (Arts & Métiers).
Remote policy: 1-2 days a week (with some flexibility). Possibility of working remotely 1-2 weeks once a year.

Benefits

Just like we’re dedicated to supporting doctors’ well-being, ensuring yours is a top priority. We firmly believe that by prioritizing your well-being, we support you to excel in your work.

Life at Nabla

When you become a part of our company, you join a team of excellence-driven, curious, and genuinely kind individuals. Together, we're committed to making clinicians' lives easier and improving healthcare experiences for everyone. We believe in a world where clinicians can focus on what they were trained to do - caring for their patients, and where no patient feels their visit was rushed.

We come to work excited to leverage AI to do more for clinicians. We’re obsessed with our users’ satisfaction and we actively seek out opportunities to engage one-on-one with clinicians to understand how Nabla can better help. We consistently look for ways to improve and do not shy away from doing the work to excel. Whether it’s a feature our users asked for, or a new article for our blog, we prioritize collaboration to deliver exceptional outcomes.

We love having fun as much as we love work. Our #nablabla channel is as active as our #feature-show-off channel, we exercise during the work day at least 3 times a week (yoga, running, pilates, or HIIT, your choice!), enjoy regular off-sites to gather the team, and travel to see each other in places like NY, Paris, San Francisco, and many other vibrant cities. Oh, and we’re constantly snacking on chocolate or nuts!

If this sounds like an environment you’ll thrive in, we look forward to reading your application!
