The Voice AI investors List
Published
We just dropped a free database of 786 Voice AI investors. Go raise some money. (Or don't, bootstrapping is cool too.)
Raising money in voice AI is broken in a very specific way.
You spend three weeks chasing a "top-tier AI fund" only to find out, mid-call, that their thesis is actually computer vision and infrastructure. Voice is a polite "interesting space, keep us posted." Translation: no.
The information exists. It's just locked inside paid databases that cost more than your runway, or scattered across 400 tabs of TechCrunch articles, Crunchbase pages, and that one tweet someone screenshotted in 2023. So founders waste weeks talking to the wrong people, and the right people never hear about half the deals they'd actually want to see.
We got tired of watching this happen to people in the community. So we built the fix.
Voice AI Investors, 786 of them, free, no login, no catch
Today we're launching the Voice AI Investors database on Voice AI Space. It's exactly what it sounds like:
786 investors (VCs, corporate funds, and angels) who have actually written checks into voice AI companies over the past few years. Not "interested in voice." Not "open to hearing pitches." Actually deployed capital. 166 voice AI companies funded between them.
You can filter by geography (from Silicon Valley to Singapore to Francophone Africa), by sector thesis, by stage (Pre-Seed to Series C+), by year of last deal. You can sort by portfolio size, fund size, or recency. You can see exactly who led which round and when.
Y Combinator tops the list with 38 voice AI investments. a16z is at 23. Then it gets interesting fast: Khosla, Altimeter, Coatue, Sequoia, General Catalyst, Emergence, plus a long tail of specialist funds and angels (hi Nat Friedman, hi Daniel Gross) who quietly do the work and don't get enough credit.
A quick honest note before you click "raise"
Raising venture money is a strategy. It is not the strategy. Every dollar you take comes with a piece of your company attached to it: board seats, preferences, expectations, a clock. Sometimes that trade is worth it. Sometimes it's exactly what kills a good business that should have stayed small and profitable.
We're not here to tell you which side of that to land on. That's your call, your cap table, your life.
But for the record: bootstrapping is cool too. Pirate style. Profitable from day one. Owning 100% of the thing you built. Customers as your only investors. There's a whole pantheon of voice AI companies being built this way right now, and they're not less serious than the ones with a Sequoia logo on their site, they're just playing a different game.
Whichever way you're going, we're rooting for you.
Why we're giving it away
Because the goal of Voice AI Space has always been the same: help the founders in this community win. We're not a SaaS, we're not selling leads, we're not going to slap a paywall on this next month. The investor list is free. It will stay free.
If you're raising, the workflow is now boring in the best possible way:
Open the list.
Filter to your stage and geography.
Cross-reference with your network for warm intros.
Stop pitching the wrong funds.
That's it. That's the launch.
A few asks
Founders: if the list helps you close a round (or decide you don't need one), tell us. We want to know. It's the kind of feedback that keeps us building.
Investors: if you're on the list and something's wrong, or you're not on the list and you should be, get in touch. Voice AI is moving fast, and we'd rather over-represent the people doing the work than miss them.
Everyone else: what should we build next? Voice AI Space is shaped by the community using it. If there's a tool, a list, a directory, a feature, or a category of pain we should be tackling, tell us. We read everything, and the best ideas on the site so far have come from people just emailing in.
Got news to share? We also just opened the Voice AI Space Newsroom to startup submissions. If you're a voice AI company with a launch, raise, product update, or genuinely interesting story, submit it here and we'll write about it using your content. Same philosophy: surface the work, help the community.
Go build. Raise or don't. Either way, we're with you.
