    About Subvocal

    Subvocal: Talk Without Talking

Subvocal is a pair of glasses that turns silently mouthed words into text, so you can write, message and prompt AI on your computer without speaking out loud. The company says it decodes subtle, almost invisible mouthing at 200+ words per minute, with no camera, and is being built as an input method for the apps you already use.

    Key Features

    • Silent speech input: You deliberately mouth words as subtly as you want, without producing audible speech. At normal conversational distance the movement is designed to be invisible.

    • Speaking-speed text entry: Subvocal claims text input at 200+ words per minute, the speed of speech rather than typing.

    • No camera: Silent speech is decoded without video or camera-based lip reading, and you never need to turn on your computer's webcam.

    • Built for your existing apps: Designed as an input method, not a separate app, for tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Slack, email, documents and messaging.

    • Background noise: Because it does not rely on hearing your voice, surrounding conversations, traffic and music don't cause the problems they cause for voice dictation.

    • Personal calibration: A short calibration at setup adapts the model to the way you articulate speech.

    • Intentional, not always on: Subvocal only transcribes words you deliberately articulate; it does not read involuntary thoughts or turn everything you do into text.

    • Context and corrections: The product is designed to use context and easy corrections to handle the occasional recognition error.

    • Prescription lenses: Prescription lenses will be offered as an optional paid upgrade.

    Use Cases

    • Open offices: Dictate text or control coding agents like Claude Code next to coworkers without disturbing them.

    • Commuting and travel: Write messages and notes on a crowded train without being overheard.

    • Private conversations with AI: Prompt an assistant about personal or confidential topics in public places.

    • Quiet rooms: Capture thoughts in libraries, cafés and shared spaces where speaking aloud isn't practical.

    Pricing

Preorders are open in the United States: a $199 refundable deposit toward a $499 Early Bird price ($300 due later), with taxes, shipping and prescription lenses extra. First shipments are estimated for Q1 2027.

    Getting Started

Subvocal brings the speed of voice input to places where speaking out loud is awkward, giving people a silent way to type, message and work with AI agents.
